The Nixplay Seed range of frames are Wifi / cloud connected and only updated remotely from either the Android / iPhone app or on the Nixplay website. Nixplay give you 10GB of online storage for all of your photos. You can control all of the frame settings from the mobile app or on their website, or by using the supplied infra-red remote control. There is also Amazon Alexa integration letting you issue voice commands to your Alexa to control the frame playlists.
Aswell as you controlling the frame from anywhere you can add family members or friends - giving them permission to post photos to your frame. You can update your frame using the Nixplay website and access your photos from Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Flickr and Google Photos. Nixplay recently added an option of having a 'continuous update' from Google Photos - so that new photos get added to the frame as you take them.
The 8 inch screen is suitably hi-resolution with a 1024x768 IPS display. While not HD the resolution is fine for a display this size. The screen has a 4:3 aspect ratio - the most common aspect ration for photos.
